Can Bollywood Survive?

Project

Can Bollywood Survive?" is a BBC Asian Network documentary hosted by Haroon Rashid that delves into the pressing questions surrounding the future of Bollywood. From interviews with top stars to discussions about fan culture and musical trends, the documentary examines the industry's challenges and possibilities in a rapidly changing landscape.

For this project, I was tasked with developing the full motion graphics package, including title and chapter cards, and stylised, explainer-style sequences. Augmenting different visual contexts from Netflix-style UI layouts to dynamic carousels of user-generated Instagram videos, my work had to defy conventional stereotypes about Bollywood. The focus was on portraying a modern, vibrant, and energetic industry, moving beyond traditional clichés. The result was a visual experience that supported the documentary's nuanced exploration of Bollywood's complex present and uncertain future.
